Deciding what life will be like after school has always been a great deal for students, especially nowadays given the many different (and sometimes confusing) options offered by the universities and the lack of jobs. One of the several institutions that could improve in making this decision much easier for young students, is, obviously, school. Today , among the options offered by the educational system , there is is the alternation between school and work,combining a few extracurricular activities ,as an experience outside the school, with the traditional curriculum An improvement that could be added to the already existing system, could be building up links with the local community of workers, so that thestudents could not only learn from the experience of those who preceeded them, but also observe the people at work and realize what their jobs actually are. By giving teenagers the ability to experiment with various jobs and careers, would enable them to obtain a better understanding of the job market they will be part of. Confirmed by the study “La scuola prepara al lavoro. Vero o falso? Ecco cosa ne pensano gli italiani” promoted by Nestlè for the 2019 edition in honor of the VET week, 54% of Italian students prefer continuing their schooling abroad, as they consider. their school system does not provide a real vision of their future. In my opinion, educating children for a better future should not be a choice, it should be a duty. By shaping young minds and giving them the chance to explore numerous fields as deeply as they can, we can improve their chances in any field service and bring them about a renewed view of the forthcoming reality that will be their working life.
